Every new mum wants to do what is best for their baby. Eating the wrong foods could cause your little one to feel uncomfortable, irritable and unable to sleep.
Babies could also develop other negative reactions that are not beneficial for their overall health, such as: a rash, constipation, diarrhea, a runny nose and various other symptoms.

2. High Mercury Fish
Fish that contain a high mercury content are dangerous to consume while breastfeeding. Avoid eating Shark meat, Swordfish, King Mackerel and Tilefish. You will also want to limit your Tuna intake to no more than two cans per week, as mentioned in this article.
3. Spicy Foods
Ingesting foods that are spicy, such as hot peppers, spices and seasonings could cause heartburn to a nursing mum and colic in her baby. If this is the case, greatly reduce or eliminate the intake of these items from your diet until breastfeeding is complete.
4. Processed Foods
Eating foods with additives and preservatives can increase the chance of an allergic reaction or sensitivity. Try to eat natural, organic foods and stay away from anything that has added chemicals.
5. Non Organic Foods
Foods that are not organic can contain hormones, pesticides and other chemicals that can be potentially harmful to the body over time. These impurities go through the mother’s system, into the breast milk and then are transferred to the baby.
Buying organic food is a bit more costly, but much healthier for mum and baby to ingest, especially during breastfeeding.
